Climbing Kilimanjaro has been a dream for over a quarter of a century. Now, in 2009, that dream has become a reality when, on 7 August at 06:58, Gary reached the summit. Unfortunately Barbara had to turn back within touching distance of the top with what turned out to be a combination of a viral infection and the altitude but she reached nearly 5,300m which is a massive achievement. Our self-funded and privately organised adventure to climb Kili is therefore at an end but please continue to donate to help us reach our target amount.
